Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Bolsonaro Government, Ernesto Araújo, speaks in the presence of President Jair Bolsonaro at the graduation of diplomats from the Rio Branco Institute. The Rio Branco Institute was created in 1945, in the wake of the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of the Baron of Rio Branco, patron of Brazilian diplomacy. Initially set up for the dual purpose of training and improving the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and establishing a nucleus of studies on diplomacy and international relations, the Institute has become, during its almost 70 years of existence, an international reference as a diplomatic academy. The selection for the diplomatic career, exclusively by the Institute, is one of the most traditional in the country, having been held annually - in some cases up to twice a year - since 1946. Of the first group to join the Institute that year, until today, more than two thousand diplomats have been formed, who invariably entered through a selective process, either in the form of a direct competition or exams for the Diploma Course in Diplomatization, succeeded by PROFA-I, later called Course of the Rio Branco Institute.

In a ceremony at the Rio Branco Institute, in the Itamaraty, he quoted from the book of Psalms that in the interpretation of the Christian faith the "builders" [Jewish nation] reject the "cornerstone", which would be Jesus Christ or the Messiah.

Ministro das Relações Exteriores do Governo Bolsonaro, Ernesto Araújo, discursa na presença do Presidente Jair Bolsonaro na formatura de diplomatas do Instituto Rio Branco. O Instituto Rio Branco foi criado em 1945, na esteira das comemorações do centenário de nascimento do Barão do Rio Branco, patrono da diplomacia brasileira. Inicialmente instituído com a dupla finalidade de tratar da formação e aperfeiçoamento dos funcionários do Ministério das Relações Exteriores e de constituir um núcleo de estudos sobre diplomacia e relações internacionais, o Instituto tornou-se, ao longo de seus quase 70 anos de existência, referência internacional como academia diplomática. A seleção para a carreira diplomática, a cargo exclusivamente do Instituto, é uma das mais tradicionais do País, tendo-se realizado anualmente – em alguns casos até duas vezes por ano – desde 1946. Da primeira turma a ingressar no Instituto, naquele ano, até hoje, formaram-se mais de dois mil diplomatas, os quais ingressaram invariavelmente por meio de processo seletivo, seja na forma de concurso direto ou de exames para o Curso de Preparação à Carreira de Diplomata, sucedido pelo PROFA-I, depois denominado Curso de Formação do Instituto Rio Branco.

BRASÍLIA  -  O chanceler Ernesto Araújo usou nesta sexta-feira uma passagem bíblica para dizer que o presidente Jair Bolsonaro é "a pedra angular do novo Brasil". Em uma cerimônia de formandos do Instituto Rio Branco, no Itamaraty, ele citou um trecho do livro dos Salmos que, na interpretação da fé cristã, os "construtores" [nação judaica] rejeitam a "pedra angular", que seria Jesus Cristo ou o Messias.

Para Ernesto Araújo, a mídia, os intelectuais, os artistas e os "autoproclamados especialistas" são os "construtores" que rejeitaram a "pedra angular" que representa o presidente Jair Bolsonaro. "A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram, essa pedra tornou-se a pedra angular do edifício", disse Araújo, citando literalmente a passagem do livro dos Salmos.
"De fato, a pedra que os órgãos de imprensa rejeitaram, que a mídia rejeitou, a pedra que os intelectuais rejeitaram, a pedra que artistas rejeitaram, a pedra que os autoproclamados especialistas rejeitaram, essa pedra tornou-se a pedra angular do edifício, do edifício de nome Brasil. Esse raio vívido de amor e de esperança que à Terra desce."

O chanceler, então, dirigiu-se diretamente a Bolsonaro: "Senhor presidente, nós aqui do Itamaraty, formandos e formados, todos nós estamos prontos para, a partir dessa informação, e com base na pedra angular rejeitada por tantos, mas escolhida pelo povo brasileiro, ajudá-lo a construir esse novo Brasil."
Momentos depois, em entrevista coletiva, Bolsonaro foi questionado sobre como viu a comparação feita pelo chanceler, mas não se referiu diretamente à Bíblia. "Eu era do baixíssimo clero, uma carta fora do baralho", afirmou. "Resolvi me candidatar, tendo a verdade acima de tudo, e agora temos a grande responsabilidade de administrar o Brasil acima de todos".
